I’ve Moved!

August 6, 2013 Leave a comment

Well, folks, I finally got my own domain. I’ve exported this blog to and won’t be updating this blog any further. I’ll leave it up for posterity, at least for now, but if you want to hear more from me, please go to the new site. There’s already a new post up, a review of Candy Crush Saga, if you’re interested.

I don’t intend to change the format or the types of things I talk about. It’s still a personal blog that will have a pretty heavy focus on games and Japan (and, when I get a good sewing machine again, probably some sewing). Since I own the domain and have full control over the FTP and such, though, I’ll be able to start making and uploading web games for everyone to try.

:3 I’m looking forward to it, and I hope you will, too!

LimbClock’s $1 Drawing

June 28, 2013 Leave a comment

One of my Ludum Dare buddies was offering fun, $1 commissioned sketches, so I got one. I asked him to do something with a crow, a walnut, and a bolt (as in screw, not lighting). I envisioned art involving those three things for this blog back when I named it, but I am not artistically inclined and I never got around to it. I’m not going to use this as web site branding, I don’t think, but I do want it to be on here. So. Here it be.

Sims 3 Hiatus

August 13, 2012 Leave a comment

I recently bought a shiny new Mac. This means a lot of the games I purchased through Steam, including The Sims 3, are not playable until I get my hands on a copy of Windows and set up dual boot through BootCamp. I contacted EA about getting my license changed from the PC version to the Mac version (because I’d rather run it natively), but since I didn’t purchase it through an “authorized distributor” they’re unwilling to help me.

My response: How is Steam not an authorized distributor?!

What it comes down to, basically, is that they want me to buy their products through Origin instead of Steam and refuse to support my purchase. I could call them any number of nasty names, but instead I’ll just refuse to buy a new copy of the game.

What that means for you guys is that there probably won’t be any more updates to my Legacy Challenge Spreadsheet for a while. I might see about getting info on new expansions from the Sims Wiki at some point, but for now I’m just going to lay low. Sorry!

Further Update on Slow Posting

September 10, 2010 Leave a comment

It’s been more than just the start of school. I have new hosting for the blog set up in anticipation of moving, and since I’m planning to switch I’ve been holding off on posting. It’s taking longer than I intended, though, so you’ll start seeing stuff here again — possibly today, but definitely by tomorrow.

Back to College

August 21, 2010 Leave a comment

My update count has fallen off a bit lately. This is mostly because I’m preparing to return to Fairbanks for college this semester. I’ll be leaving town on the 28th, and will probably take a day or two to settle in at the dorms once I get there; until then, expect few updates… though I’ll try to get at least one or two in.

I mean, it’s not like I haven’t been up to anything, after all. I made a bodacious hula hoop and took pictures of a bunch of flyers and stuff I brought back with me from Japan before throwing them away.

Sims 3 Legacy Challenge Scorecard Spreadsheet Link Fix

July 8, 2010 Leave a comment

Someone was kind enough to let me know that my Sims 3 Legacy Challenge Scorecard Spreadsheet download link was in fail mode. Since I can’t figure out what the problem is, I’ve moved hosting for the spreadsheet to 4shared. (Edit: There’s a new version.) My apologies to anyone who’s been frustrated by the busted link.

Out of Town for a Wedding

July 1, 2010 Leave a comment

Well, I meant to post another Bright Green Gaijin Pants entry on Tuesday night, before I left town. I forgot to finish it up, though, and since all that really remains is adding photos back into it and those photos are on my PC at home… that’s not happening until I get back.

I’m in Juneau for a friend’s wedding, which is going down tomorrow. It’s going to be a Catholic wedding, at a Catholic chapel outside of Juneau proper. We (Ash, Patti, and I)  were exploring the area this evening for the fun of it and came across the location, so we decided to check it out in case we don’t have time tomorrow. The place is gorgeous! More on that later, too; I forgot my camera when we went on our jaunt because Objective One was fast food.

If I have time tomorrow morning, I’ll post something about Canadian road signs (we drove instead of flying), but otherwise there will be no updates until Sunday night or sometime on Monday.

Have a good fourth of July, whether the date means something to you or not. It feels weird not to be throwing candy out of a fire truck this year.
